Mezzo-soprano KIANA BELL (B.A., Music, 2015) stars in Lamb’s Players Theatre’s production of AMERICAN RHYTHM, June 10th – August 7th, 2016 at the Lamb's Players Theatre, 1142 Orange Avenue, Coronado. Kiana recently appeared in San Diego Musical Theater's production of RAGTIME. While an undergrad in the PLNU Music Department, Kiana began her operatic journey in the spring of 2011, appearing as Bess (Porgy and Bess) in an opera scenes concert. She also performed in scenes as Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel). Some of her full roles include Praskowia (The Merry Widow), Cleo (The Most Happy Fella), and Cendrillon (Cendrillon), all with Point Loma Opera Theatre, PLNU's student opera club. Kiana has performed as a soloist with the San Diego Youth Symphony (Aleko). She has been a prize winner at the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions (San Diego), La Jolla Symphony and Chorus Young Artists Competition, the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, and the Inaugural Messiah Soloist Competition at USD. She also sang with the San Diego Opera Chorus during its 2013 and 2014 seasons. Kiana recently completed a season as a Festival Artist with Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre. Performances of AMERICAN RHYTHM at Lamb's Players Theatre will run Wed at 2pm, Tues - Thur @ 7:30, Fri @ 8pm, Sat @ 4pm & 8pm, Sun @ 2pm. Tickets are $28-$78. Half price tickets are available for Active Duty Military, and those under the age of 35 who join Lamb's Players'“Under 35” club.
